La Ciminiera Country House is idyllically set in Staffolo, a lovely hamlet of the province of Ancona. It is situated halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains.

Staffolo, that develops 442 metres above sea level, is totally surrounded by imposing medieval walls, and it boasts breathtaking views over the Adriatic Coast.

The glorious countryside that surrounds the house is peppered with lush Verdicchio D.O.C. vineyards. This fine wine is renowned all over the world for its fresh, fruity fragrance and its yellow colour with greenish nuances and golden shades.


Sea lovers will have the possibility to reach plenty of famous seaside resorts, such as Senigallia (49 km), Falconara Marittima (30 km) and the enchanting Conero Peninsula, that extends south of Ancona (55 km) and includes the compelling beaches of Numana and Sirolo. Heading further north, they will have the possibility to reach Rimini and Riccione, the so-called capitals of fun (108 km).

The lovers of art won’t miss the opportunity to visit the picturesque villages and fortresses that cherish the precious historical and cultural heritage of the region: Urbino (112 km), Recanati, the native town of Giacomo Leopardi (45 km), Loreto and its famous Sanctuary, (46 km), Castelfidardo, the city of accordions (35 km), and the imposing castle of Gradara, that provided the backdrop for the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca (102 km). Rome itself can be reached in less than 2 and an half hours.

Not to be missed are the splendid Frasassi Caves, that are situated 37 kilometres far from the house: A remarkable karst cave system that is particularly well endowed with stalactites and stalagmites.

The lovers of nature and open-air activities will have the possibility to climb up to 1300 metres above sea level in just half an hour. In summer, they will have the possibility to go for pleasant walks amidst ancient oaks and beech trees, while in winter they will have the opportunity to admire snow-capped mountains and splendid landscapes. A fascinating trail climbs up to the 1500-metre-high Mount San Vicino, that boasts breathtaking views over the underlying valley.
